4. 2026 League Structure, Rules and fixtures

Changes to teams:
Whitefields have applied to enter the league.

Vote:
Accept Whitefields - Y/N

If N then the structure will require us to make a decision on having more teams in division 1 or 2.

If Y then the previously agreed rules should stand as follows:

League Setup for 2026

If any existing team leaves before the 2026 season without any new teams joining, then a meeting will be held with 1 representitive from each participating club to establish the setup going forward.
If 1 extra team joins for the 2026 season, then division 1 will have 7 teams and division 2 will have 7 teams with 3 teams promoted and 2 teams relegated at the end of the 2025 season.
If 2 extra teams join for the 2026 season, then 3 teams will be promoted from division 2 to division 1, 2 teams relegated and the new teams would join division 2.

Changes to captains:
Coventry - Jacob Parsons replaces Richard Bush
Rugby - Steve to update us

Action:
Secretary to update the captain's page with any changes

Fixtures
Historically the league had a rigid structure to the fixtures using a balanced draw and clubs would have to play their fixtures in the order in the draw. This means each team gets a balance of home and away matches throughout the season and teams play other teams in a set order. Last year we relaxed the rules for rearranging matches and the order of fixtures became more random as a result. Should we keep or change the fixture rearranging rules? Should the fixture sheet be followed as closely as possible with limited exceptions or should we allow clubs to change any fixtures to suit them?

Do we start earlier in May to end the season sooner and have less impact on the summer holidays? If there are 7 teams in a division it takes 14 weeks without doubling up fixtures in a single week. We're going to need to play into August whether we go a week or 2 earlier.
